Teaching Practice

We are now an approved GP Training Practice within the Oxford Deanery, accredited to help train qualified doctors to become GPs. From August 2011 we will have GP Trainees working in the surgery for various periods of time during their 3 year vocational qualification to become a GP.

These doctors will be seeing patients like any of our GPs, but under the supervision of one of the GPs in the Practice.

For the purposes of training, some consultations (but not examinations) with the Registrar will be videotaped, but patients will be informed and have the option to opt out of having the consultation recorded. Any consultations recorded will be treated in the strictest confidence and only used for training purposes.

As a Practice we are all committed to the on-going education of doctors wishing to become GPs and hope that our patients will be as willing and understanding.
